Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

Sunday Snippets  --  A Catholic Carnival has been a staple post every Sunday, for a while.  I deliberately used the past tense in the previous sentence, because R'Ann who facilitated the blog, This And That And The Other Thing, has had enough.  She's calling it quits.  Click on over there and read R'Ann last post.

Essentially, the time has come.  The fun is gone and the Sunday Snippets has become a burden.  We bloggers linked together and posted what we did all week.  So one last time, I'll link over.

This week's posts have all been Lenten meditations towards making a 40 day consecration to Mary.  I've been doing that every single day and will continue doing that until Easter.
To Jesus thru Mary.

Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

Since I'm still doing the Consecration to Mary, that's what I post every day.  But I have blogger This And That And The Other Thing Blog.  Click on over and read to your delight.  God Bless.

Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I made it to the Third Sunday of Lent.  My week's post are all concerned with my Lenten Journey in a Consecration to Mary.  I'm still linking up with my fellow bloggers on This And That And The Other Thing Blog.  If you click over there, you'll see some interesting posts.

Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'm knee deep in my Consecration to Mary every day during Lent.  If you're interested and God bless you if you're not, read my daily posts, since Ash Wednesday.  But if you're not interested, you will surely find something of interest on my fellow bloggers' pages.  Go to This And That And The Other Thing blog and pick from the list of bloggers.  I know you'll find something to appeal to you.

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

What a busy week!  We're buried under snow.  We've shoveled, sanded, salted, and chipped.  We can't wait for Spring!  This week was busy because I helped distribute ashes on Ash Wednesday.  I volunteered at the library.  I also went to the wake and funeral of a friend.  I also am posting an on-going prayer.  It's a consecration, which I define as a special prayer promising to devote oneself.  In this case, it's a consecration to the Virgin Mary.  I'm doing this for Lent, for myself, and whomever is so moved to join me.
Now it's time to link to the blog This And That And The Other Thing.  I post what I did for the week, along with other bloggers.  I posted daily, but it's all

Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

Outside a blizzard is blasting.  I looked out the window and didn't see anything but whiteness.  I pray the electricity stays on.  As long as I have my computer, I can keep up with my blogger friends at This That And The Other Thing.  That's R'Ann's blog.  We link up there to catch up on what's happened during the past week.  Click here to see what I'm talking about.  My week went thus:

Monday  --  Blizzard Blues

Tuesday  --  Short Story

Wednesday  --  News v. Entertainment (My take on Brian William's predicament.)

Thursday  --  St. Expeditus

Friday  --  Prayer for my Godson.
                 Shameless begging.

Saturday  --  Valentine cartoon.

Starting tomorrow, I'll introduce my Lenten Consecration to Mary.  It will bring you closer to Mary and therefore closer to Jesus.  I promise you, unlike St. Louis de Montfort's Consecration, mine is doable.  Do it for Lent.  Do it for Jesus.  Do it for Mary.  Do it for yourself.

Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

Thanks to Creative Commons
Although I have enough snow to make a
village of snow people, but I'm
too exhaused from
shoveling.

There's another snow storm outside.  When will winter end?  It seems relentless.  But I always have the internet.  Thanks be to God.  And I have my blogger friends on This And That And The Other Thing Blog to connect with.  Since I'm home all day, (outside of going out to shovel), I can at least enjoy my fellow bloggers' week's work.  Here was mine:

Monday:   I learned about Candlemas.

Tuesday:   St. Ansgar

Wednesday:  Papal monthly prayer intention is for our "cloistered brothers."

Thursday:  Another Prayer Group Tale

Friday:  What Enoch, Elijah and Mary have in common

Saturday:   What to do about suffering

Do you think it's time to repost my prayer from January 27, 2015?

Lord, God Almighty, You Who created all; Lord of all the elements; God of Refuge, hear my prayer.

Turn the path, Merciful Lord, that causes the snow to blizzard, the rain to fall, and the wind that blows. Send this dangerous storm out sea where it will do no harm.  But if Your plans, which I am too simple minded to comprehend, are not in alignment with my wishes, then at least keep my electricity on, my computer usable, my cell phone viable, my heat operational, and my TV working.

Also, I think you'll need to bless me with the grace of humor.  I need to keep my spirits up to cope with this horrendous weather.  You will also need to help those most vulnerable: the elderly, the sick and homeless.  While you're giving out blessings, Lord, bless my mailbox so the snow plow won't knock it down, again.

Thanks, Lord.  You always come through for me--one way or another.                  Amen.

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

Since it's Christmas time, I've a lot to post about.  I've linked this post as I usually do every Sunday, to This That And The Other Thing blog.  This blog is where some of my fellow bloggers and I gather together to share our week.  Why don't you go visit them, here, and enjoy their daring do's.  My daring do's may not be daring, but they're busy.  How were yours?

Monday -- I'm really pushing myself to do de Montfort's Consecration to Mary.

Tuesday -- I am a maggot on top of scum.
Confirmation that I am an ugly and loathsome maggot.
What's in store for the rest of the consecration.

Wednesday --  I love being a mother.

Thursday -- Reflection on Christmas day.

Friday -- I hate the Litany of Humility and I can do better.

Saturday -- Cartoon.

What's taking up a lot of my time, and making everything so crazy busy is that I'm doing St. Louis de Montfort's True Devotion Consecration to Mary.  It's eating up a lot of my time.

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

Crazy!  Crazy.  It's crazy busy around here.  I don't think I'd feel as stressed if it weren't for the fact that I'm still recuperating.  I tire so easily.  Yesterday, I had to walk for a mile and I did OK but I slept all the way home.  We were visiting my son in Roslindale.  It's hard to find a parking spot, so we didn't move the car; we walked. However, I still managed to post every day.  And today is the day my fellow bloggers and I link together at the blog, This And That And The Other Thing.  We catch up with each other to see what happened during the week.  Here's what's happening in my world:

Monday -- Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary, ...

Tuesday -- I started St. Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration to Mary.

Wednesday -- You know, it's hard to live in the world, and not be in it.

Thursday -- Did you know that a god is judged by how he treats mankind?

Friday -- Book Review of An Amish Second Christmas.

Saturday -- My Christmas present to all my friends.

Hope everybody is having a blessed Advent.  Christmas is coming this week.  Enjoy.  Our Savior will come.

How's your Advent going?

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

Yes, I know today's not Sunday.  I had company all weekend and I've been running around like a headless chicken, so I didn't have time to link up on the proper day, with my fellow bloggers who join together at R'Ann's, This And That And The Other Thing Blog.  Here's how I spend my week:

Monday -- You MUST talk to God.  That's called prayer.  Then listen.  You will soon be conversing and that's how you become friends.

Tuesday --  Book review on a book by one of my "go to" authors, Cristelle Camby.

Wednesday -- Christmas Eve tradition from my mother's side of the family.

Thursday --  I wish I would win one of these raffles.

Friday -- One of my favorite religious nuts.

Saturday -- At least someone in the family appreciates my efforts.

I have company next weekend, too.  Hope to connect with you next Sunday.

Thanksgiving

Unfortunately, I'm not my chipper self.  Since my surgery, November 17th, I've been in a funk.  I'm not bouncing back like I expected.  I feel like I'm wallowing in self-pity.  Hence, I had a hard time posting this week.  I couldn't think of anything to write about.  Nothing was happening to write about.  Who wants to join my pity party?

However, I am still linking up to my weekly link up at This And That And The Other Thing Blog, where my fellow bloggers go, every Sunday.  Life goes on and I don't want it to pass me by.  So I'll limp along.

Monday -- Brother Tonto cartoon.

Tuesday -- Praying for peace in Ferguson, MO.

Wednesday -- Goodness attracts.

Thursday -- ...and if you want to know, my family just charged in eating.

Friday -- Reminiscing about Alice's Restaurant

Saturday -- Brother Tonto, again.

Happy Advent!

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

This week has been terrible.  I've been waiting for Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival, to vent.

Monday --  I didn't post because I was in the hospital having surgery.  You don't want to know (women's stuff)

Tuesday -- I came home hurting.

Wednesday -- What is that statue doing?

Thursday -- Advertising

Friday -- I did a lot of praying today.  My doctor says I'm not healing, as I should.  I have another appointment Monday.

Saturday -- It's a crock!

I need prayers.  I am a bit better.  I can see the light, but I want to get to it now!  Meanwhile, I entertain myself surfing the net.  Why don't you surf on over to the blog, This That And The Other Thing, where I'll be posting, and read how my fellow bloggers' weeks went.

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

Today, I'm asking for prayers for myself.  I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow.  (Women's issues)  I plan on staying overnight, so I won't be posting tomorrow, Monday.  Instead, why don't you click on over to the blog This And That And The Other Thing blog, to see what my blogger friends have written, this past week.
This is what I did this week:

Monday  --  Pray for Sin

Tuesday --  Sister Miriam's poem

Wednesday -- Correctional Recovery Advocacy

Thursday  --  A catechumenate's first Mass

Friday  --  Did you know that fish bilocate?

Saturday --  The pessimist and the optimist

Don't forget to pray for me and the surgeon.  If all goes well, I'll be back in a couple of days if it is God's will.
