Taking a Chance

R'Ann, the hostess of This and That and the Other Thing blog wrote a book review on The All You Can Eat Dream Buffet, by Barbara O'Neal.  The publisher promised to offer a "book give away" if you post about it on your own blog.

Giveaway:
The publisher has graciously offered my readers the opportunity to win a copy of The All You Can Dream Buffet: A Novel.  To enter, leave a comment with your email address and a link to your favorite food blog.  For additional chances to win, share about this giveaway on facebook, twitter, Google+, on your blog etc or even via email.  Each share is worth one entry. Leave a comment letting me know you shared.  Winner will be selected March 15.  US mailing addresses only.

Hence, this post.

The book looks good, doesn't it?  The food looks good, doesn't it?  Do my chances look good?

Sunday Snippets -- A Catholic Carnival

This first Sunday of Advent is also A Catholic Carnival day of Sunday Snippets.  What am I talking about?  Every Sunday, a group of bloggers post about their week's posts and link together at This n' That and the Other Thing.  Thanks for R'Ann who is our gracious hostess.

R'Ann asked What I planned to do for Advent?  I refuse to answer because I'm still sore from having my plans upset.  See Thursday's post from a couple of weeks ago.  Sorry, I guess I enjoy wallowing in self pity.  Poor me.

But this week was busy.

Sunday -- Father Brian explained "proof texting," to me.

Monday -- Brother Tonto explained "Thanksgiving," to me.

Tuesday -- Auntie Mae made a sales pitch.

Wednesday -- I prayed.

Thursday -- A tribute to Sarah Joseph Hale.

Friday -- Promotion for Cities for Life.

Saturday -- I marveled how St. Peter's writing were so apropos to our present times.

Catholic Sunday Snippets

Thank you RAnn at "This That and the Other Thing" for hosting this site and for providing a welcoming place for so many talented Catholic Bloggers to share their work. It is an honor to be here.

I'm only highlighting one post, this week, because of its importance.  That's Prayers Requested for Thomas Beirne.  We're praying for a healing, but we're specifically praying to Pier Georgia Frassati because he needs one more miracle for canonization.  This would be a perfect match (made in heaven).

Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

This is an experiment.  I'm diving into the pool, head first.  I'm joining a group of Catholic bloggers at RAnn's place. Take a few minutes and visit!

As I understand it, I'm to link to my weekly posts.  Since I post, just about every single day, I'm only linking to my week's favorites.

Monday and Tuesday, I posted about American Catholicism.

Tuesday began strange.  I really didn't have anything to write about except my walk.  Well, I was very surprised to see the hits I got.  More than usual!  So I have to note that post.

Wednesday I don't think would interest anyone.  But Thursday's Swimming in God was good.  I think so, anyway.

Friday was just what you would expect of me.  Nothing new.  Saturday would only be of interest to Dominicans.  And today, Sunday was bleh.

So four post I'd like to offer the Catholic Carnival at This n' That Blogspot.

Not Ship-Shape

The Woman in Cabin 10 b y Ruth Ware is called a psychological thriller.  To me it means that the protagonist, Lauren, will drive you crazy...
