Happy Feast of St. Norbert

I know I usually only talk about Dominicans, but the Norbertines fooled me--their habits look Dominican.  ;-)

Today St. Norbert's feast is celebrated by the Church.  His Order is a hundred years older than the Dominicans and still vibrant. They have been called Norbertines, Premonstratensians, Canons Regular of Premontre, and even White Canons.  They are canons regular.  That means they pastor people, and accordingly work out in the world. They follow the rule of St. Augustine and thus emphasize community life.  They live, pray, and build the faith, together.  St. Norbert is often seen holding a monstrance to show his devotion to the Eucharist.
