Promises Kept

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was initiated by an entertainment celebrity, Danny Thomas.  Danny promised St. Jude that if he helped him find his way in life, he would build a shrine to St. Jude.  He did and he did.

I've asked for intercession many, many times in my life but I never attached a codicil to my request.  It seems presumptuous. What if I couldn't fulfill my promise?  It seems silly.  "Make me rich and I'll build a church for you."  God doesn't work that way.
