Doing God's Will

In preparing for the Readings for this Ninth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Matt 7: 21-27, I was reminded of something C.S. Lewis said, and just had to chuckle.

First, Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven."

Fair enough.  C. S. Lewis said something like this, there are two kinds of people; one that will say, 'Your Will be done, Lord.'  Then there are others who say, ' Oh alright, God!  Have it Your Way.'

Mmmmmmm.

Maybe because I'm the second type, but I think forcing oneself to do God's Will, when you want to do your own, is better.  Doing works, like loving your enemy, because God wants you to, (certainly not you, yourself) is worthy.  Isn't it?
